New Eurostar service Verbier – Swiss Alps

Eurostar are reporting a new deal with Lyria TGV (The high speed Swiss train service) to help get skies and snow boarders out to the Swiss alps this winter.

Prices on their website are reasonable £189 – £299, with transfers starting in December 2012 – April 2013. There are no timings or details on their website.

Fast train service to Verbier

There is one change that you have to make which is in Lille which then allows you to get access to the slopes in Verbier, Zermatt, Saas-Fee, Villars and Gstaad.

The amasing Annie Spiers rally team (Verbier) with the Swiss rally champions Florian and Sandra in action in last years Rallye du Valais

With the rally coming to Verbier 3 times this year keep you eyes open for this car during this years rally (27th – 29th October)

The 52nd Rallye International du Valais features just over 260 kilometres of special stages, most of them familiar to the regular visitors of the most important event in Swiss motor sport but with its traditional amount of new things.

The race will begin on Thursday 27 October and will draw to an end on Saturday 29 October at the CERM (Centre d’Expositions et de Réunions de Martigny), which hosts the service park.

At the top in the hierarchy of international events thanks to its commendable, well trained organisation, the Rallye International du Valais offers first class infrastructures. This year, in addition to the European and Swiss championships, as well as the 2WD European Cup, it counts towards the Citroën Racing Trophy, the Ford Racing Trophy, the Renault Clio R3 Pirelli Swiss Trophy and the Renault Twingo R1 Pirelli Swiss Trophy.

Verbier’s annual weekend in Le Châble

Yes it’s that time of year again when Verbier closes for the weekend and the Le Châble Raclette Festival is the place to be!!!

Last weekend Le Châble hosted its annual Raclette (Cheese) Festival, something to do with the end of the summer and the cows coming off the mountain is the offical reason, not that the Swiss need a reason to open a bottle of local wine and eat Bagnes cheese.

VICTOIRE en IRC Production Cup au rallye de Sanremo !
Après le Monte-Carlo et la Corse, c’est au tour du rallye de Sanremo de tomber dans l’escarcelle de l’équipage suisse de la Subaru. Florian Gonon et Sandra Arlettaz réalisent un triplé mythique dans ces épreuves légendaires du rallye mondial.

Ils ont dominé cette manche de l’IRC Production Cup et récoltent également la victoire en groupe N. Au classement général, remporté par le belge Thierry Neuville, l’équipage du Team Annie Spiers décroche une belle 16ème place.

Cette troisième victoire, sur quatre rallyes disputés en IRC cette saison, leur permet d’accroître leur avance au classement de l’IRC Production Cup (groupe N, 4×4) avec 75 points au total. Cinq concurrents se partagent la deuxième place du challenge avec 25 points à deux manches de la fin de la saison.

Les rallyes d’Ecosse et de Chypre ne figurent pas au programme de Florian et Sandra. L’attente va être longue pour le team Annie Spiers et leurs supporters afin de savoir si l’équipage suisse sera le premier à être titré dans cette IRC Production Cup. En effet, grâce aux facteurs de 1.5 et 2 appliqués sur les points récoltés lors des deux dernières courses, leurs concurrents peuvent encore espérer remporter le titre.

Avant de penser à cette éventuelle consécration, la satisfaction d’avoir remporté ces trois anciennes manches du WRC est immense et l’exploit conséquent.

Du 27 au 29 octobre prochains, l’équipage valaisan jouera à domicile pour le 52ème rallye international du Valais, manche des championnats d’Europe et de Suisse. Ils auront comme objectif de conquérir un 15ème podium consécutif en autant de départ dans le championnat national.

Congratulations to the Annie Spiers rally team with Florian Gonon and Sandra Arlettaz for their results at Rally Sanremo, 1st in class again.
Not saying that this is an amazing rally team, but the second place team was some 00:02:45.0 behind them….
PS Did I mention that Karting Extreme Verbier are partners with the Annie Spiers rally team!!!
